Sunset Bay Marina, Stuart to Roland and Maryann Martin's Marina and Resort

Jensen Beach, many beautiful large homes

Homes elevated, waterfront Stuart

This morning we woke to heavy fog, we were told by the locals and the newscasters that the fog would burn off by 9:00.  They were correct and we left just as the fog was lifting.  We were able to go fast along this route with very little traffic bothering us.

We were raised 10 - 12 feet

I put my first sticker somewhere random
a little small in the chamber

beautiful wild scenery along this route

We approached the Port St. Lucie lock and had to wait approximately 1/2 hour before we were allowed in.  Once in the lock, we had to hold onto the ropes, our engines off, we have our life preservers on (as required), it took 1/2 hour for the water to flow into the lock and bring us up to the next level, I think about 12-15 feet.  We were just in there with one other smaller boat.

Next lock we encountered was the Port Mayaca lock, we hit this right and were able to access the lock within 5 minutes of approach.  We were only raised about two feet in this lock and were out in less than 15 minutes, but our lock keeper was very concerned because we had been locked in with a manatee (we did not see it-he did) and had to be very careful upon our exit to not harm him/her in any way.

We have seen many beautiful
sunrises and sunsets!

We made great time across the lake and went through a non working lock to the marina.  We were told we got in just in time as 80 bass boats would be coming in a half hour to bring their fish for the tournament!  Wow, we did get here in time.

They have a tiki bar here, outside with a roof, but a lot of people, we are ordering takeout and chilling on the boat.  On to another day and more locks tomorrow.  Our destination is a state campground, no frills for sure.  We are prepping to cook tomorrow, it will be good, we have Sam's Market meatballs with us!
