Departed Morehead City Yacht Basin for Harbor Village Marina in Hampstead NC, about 60 miles. Low tide is early in the morning so we don't have to leave early but the marina we are heading to made it clear we need to be there well before 4:00 when they leave. Rosemary called Camp Lejeune live fire control and verified there will be no exercises today. There are a couple of trouble spots and we anticipate the railroad bridge being open but a new day always brings new adventures.

5 Hours - left at 9 and arrived at 2 we were taking our time and had a pleasant ride. Arrived 10 minutes before 12 and hailed the Onslow Beach Swing Bridge Tender for a 12:00 opening. Rosemary, knowing how prompt the Marines are supposed to be, was surprised and a little agitated that they didn't open the bridge until 12:04.
| Parker's Spot |
Harbor Village Marina is very protected in a basin directly adjacent to the ICW. Room for possibly 4 transient boats. Nice facility and surrounded by beautiful homes. They even told us we could throw the ball for Parker behind the marina in a field, that makes Parker a happy puppy. Nothing close by, we are cooking what we brought. They were very clear that was the case when we made the reservation, which is no problem because we have enough food on board to eat for a week. We won't starve.
| Snug and cozy for the night, and a place to throw the ball for Parker! |
Time to plan the jump to St James Plantation Marina for tomorrow, will be quick trip. Weather kept getting better today. Puffy coats and knit hats and gloves back in the closet.
