Beaufort SC to Charlerston SC

Yet another beautiful sunset

 March 11, 2021

We left at 8:00 AM and arrived at 1:00 PM.  It was a beautiful day yet again.  The weather is really cooperating with our plans to go North quickly.

Wahoo tournament - big fish!

We are staying at Toler's Cove Marina about 6 miles North of the Mega Dock where we stayed on the way down.  That is so busy and we don't plan on going into Charleston anyway.  Out dockhand  a very nice young lady that taught for 6 years but hated it and just loves her job now.  To us, that is success.  If you can support yourself and do something you love, even if you don't make a ton of money, that is a happy life.

High Tide

There was a Wahoo tournament going on so there were a lot of smaller boats (and some large ones) going in and out of this marina.  We thought it would be extremely quiet as this marina is associated with a community but we were wrong.  We did have a beautiful sunset over the marsh, it was a very nice stop.

The end of a tough day

While Rosemary was taking a shower, Sandy saved a life!  Two couples were coming in after dark, with their two dogs aboard a small boat.  When the gentleman tried to jump off to tie up, he somehow got tangled in the railing and ended up in the drink.  Sandy ran to grab him and eventually guided him over to our swim ladder and swim platform to get out.  It is really hard to get out of the water when the dock is two feet above you filled with oyster shells.  Best thing for him, his phone was still on the boat!

On to Heritage Plantation Marina in Pawley's Island tomorrow.
