St. Simons Island to Savannah

Chilling after an early start

feels and looks like springtime

March 9, 2021

We left St. Simons Island at 7:00 AM.  High tide is 6:30 AM here and we have to get past some skinny spots before low tide.  There is a huge tidal flow here, more than 8 feet and that means a lot when there are very shallow parts on our way.  From Fernandina Beach till we get home, the tides are really important and they change regionally so you always have to check and adjust.

So many beautiful home on Bluff Drive, Isle of Hope

So many beautiful sunsets we have experienced

We arrived at 11:40AM, much earlier than we anticipated.  We were able to go fast for most of the way and were able to squeeze past the skinny spots.  We are staying at Isle of Hope Marina.  Very nice small town feel near the marina.  Gorgeous homes.  Bluff Drive ran along the ICW here, we have attached pictures of some of the homes.  A pleasure to walk by with Parker.

Nice showers and laundry

Spring!

So many beautiful homes

We used a loaner car to pick some boat supplies, and food. No more provisioning for the rest of the trip, we have to use everything before the trip ends.

outside is even better

On to Beaufort SC, to Lady Island Marina, where we stayed on the way down.
