St. Augustine to Fernandina Beach

Jacksonville Free Dock

3/4/2021 Thursday

We left St. Augustine at 9 heading to Fernandina Beach.  There is weather coming in and although we could proceed to St. Simon's, Georgia on Friday, the dock there is exposed and we would be rocking  so we have elected to stay at Fernandina Beach until Monday morning.  Fernandina is an Oasis marina that is not gated so we got a lot of tourists walking the docks but the town is great.  There are lots of shops and restaurants and good places for Parker relief.  We also can get caught up on laundry and our blogs and continue to plan for the trip home.  At this point, the tide (which is so regional) really starts to come into play.

still warm enough to eat outside

as the sun sets

We went out to dinner and sat outside, almost totally by ourselves to Joe's 2nd St. Bistro.  We had an excellent meal, we think the rest of the time we will be eating on the boat since we are getting rain on Saturday and it has been windy and the winds will be increasing as the weekend goes on.

Plaque says "Harold"

first ride in a while, we went too far!

We rode our bikes out to Fernandina Beach on Friday and then rode all over Fort Cinch state park.  We are trying to take advantage of the sunny day before the rain.

there is even a place where Parker gets to play Ball!
