Key West to Fort Meyers Beach

We took advantage of a favorable forecast from a stable system to make the open water transit.  The forecast included stronger winds at the outset with conditions improving as we moved North.

This leg of the trip is an open water crossing where we spend 95% of the time running in the Gulf of Mexico.  Pink Shell Resort Marina is only about 1.5 miles inside of the inlet to the Gulf of Mexico.  The weather report was accurate and we had a mostly pleasant uneventful crossing.

Took advantage of a kind of refreshing dip in the pool, it was hot! The shower was welcome and we had dinner on the boat, we had picked up the night before.

Early to bed, we did enjoy Over The Air (OTA) tv and a strong WIFI signal to watch a Penn State Basketball game.  It was becoming a blowout with Perdue taking control in the second half which made for a good excuse to retire early.
