Coinjock to Belhaven

 Today is Thursday 10/29/2020.  we have to keep on top of dates for reservations.  There are many people heading South and when weather interferes things get interesting.  We have been making reservations two days out and we now have some weather coming that will keep boats at the dock.  We are leaving very early today to make it to Belhaven before it gets really windy.  Half of the boats left earlier and some are staying put.

The challenge today is the Alligator River swing bridge which closes when the wind reaches a point where the tender determines it may be too dangerous for the mechanics of the bridge to properly open and close.  Rosemary has called and talked to the bridge tender this morning and we should be okay if we get there early enough.

We arrived in Belhaven NC at our marina before noon.  The Belhaven marina is very small, a pier with fixed docks on each side.  Tight fit in very windy conditions.  Maybe 6 large boats and it is basically full.  The wind only got worse and we were rocking in our slip for most of the day.  

We went to a very nice restaurant for dinner at Spoon River & Artwork.  The patrons were very well spaced out and the food was great.  We would have gotten take out from there but we could not figure out their system and there was no option anywhere to eat outside.
