Halifax Harbor Daytona to Coco Village Marina

look closely in the middle of the picture and
you can see the starlink Rocket taking off

At Coco Village Marina 8:00 AM

Parker got us up last night twice to go out, a very unusual event.  Sandy took him out at 1 and 5 AM, so we had a really really early start this morning.   Security is tight at the marina (Halifax Harbor), the gates to the docks locked at all time and operated by the key cards.  You give them back by passing the fuel dock where they extend a basket for you to drop them in.  The grounds of the marina are vast and I took Parker for a long walk to get him ready for this leg of the trip.

It was a beautiful day and we left the dock at 8:40 AM.  It was mostly slow going as thru no wake zones where there were so many beautiful homes and docks.  Eventually we made better time but there were several areas with low water levels.  We arrived about 5 hours later.  Cocoa Village is a nice town, they are very Covid compliant here and that is a relief.  People are wearing masks pretty much everywhere, including on the streets.

Coco Village would be really nice post Covid
Most people wear masks

Fixed docks make it a little difficult to get
Parker off the boat

Beautiful homes along the Indian River

We were fortunate enough to be here for a Space X launch this morning.  We watched the take off on the tv and immediately could see the rocket out the back door of the boat, what a treat to see.

16th flight for this rocket

There are many food options nearby, the only negative is that you cross two one way streets that are very busy with a 50 mph speed limit.  We had a great lunch seated outside at a french cafe.  The rest of our time with a lay day was spent planning the final leg of the trip from Lake Okeechobee to Fort Meyers and on to Key West.  Planned a stop at Pink Shell Resort mainly due to proximity of the Gulf.

The dock hands here are very capable and pump out is done at the slip.  Very nice laundry facility, lounge (closed for Covid) and showers.

  1. Humm my comment wouldn’t post earlier. I said the launch video and pics were cool. Hoping Parker is okay. He’s a trooper. The pink shell sounds nice. You both look so relaxed. Almost there!! Beautiful sunrise picture! Safe trip! ❤️👍🏻✔️
