Savannah to Beaufort SC

 3/8/2022

Work on the docks at Isle of Hope
forced this boat to move to nearby Thunderbolt Marina

Savannah (Isle of Hope Marina) to Beaufort SC (Ladys Island Marina)

Different tide makes a huge difference
Headed south we took a picture while passing
the same buoy hard aground

We were able to manage our coolant issue today by going slow and Sandy was able to determine our tolerance to speed without getting the engine too hot.  We had a very calm day on the water, but the weather is supposed to be getting very nasty.  Thunderstorms and heavy rain and rapidly falling temperatures, oh my!

Lady's Island facedock

We got to Lady's Island Marina, another one of our favorites, we "hunted and gathered" lunch and dinner for tomorrow since the marina we will be staying at is in a residential area with nothing else around, which is fine with us.  It is also very sheltered with no wave action and we are very happy with that.  We had dinner at the Dockside restaurant which is adjacent to the marina and is very good.  Tomorrow we will have breakfast and dawdle a bit as we have a very well known bad spot to be going through at low tide so we have to wait till we at least 1/2 way through the tide cycle before we leave.

If I Only had a Heart!

Tomorrow we are on our way to Toler's Cove, which is just North of Charleston Harbor.  We do not like to stay on the mega dock or any of the marinas which are on the open water as there is a lot of traffic and constant wave action when you are on the boat.

Really like Dockside Restaurant
steps away from the boat!
