tug pushing, North Palm Beach, had to pull over

North Palm Beach to Fort Pierce

Interesting paint job

We woke up to a cloudy day, a little bit cooler than what we have gotten used to.  Safe harbor had free donuts and bagels , so we took advantage of that before we left just for the heck of it.

Opened for the sail boat
we didn't require any openings today

We left Old Port Cove (North Palm Beach) and started on the ICW which was very close to the marina.  It is quite windy here today, picking up velocity in the afternoon,  so the ocean was out of the question.  It was a pleasant ride, about half way through our journey, where we started hitting more open water, we had white caps with us the rest of the way.  It is always nice to pull back into a marina and tie up for the night.  Because it had gotten rougher in the afternoon, Sandy had to wash the salt off the whole boat again.  All these chores add up to a long day.

Docked and enjoying an oyster shooter!

We got more fuel, ice and a pump out and we are all set to leave tomorrow.  There is a restaurant really close to the marina that we went to last time and we intend to revisit.  We had a Mary Jane shooter for the heck of it last time and I think we might be doing that again.  Tito's, cocktail sauce, zing zang (whatever that is??) cilantro, scallions and lemon juice, and, of course, a raw oyster!  Yum!

passing jupiter light house

We also made reservations today for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  We prefer to not travel on the ICW on weekends so we might stay put at St. Augustine for the weekend.  They were kind enough to tell us if we were able to go out in the ocean we could just cancel the remainder of the reservation and not be charged.  Unheard of and very nice, we will see.

more commercial traffic

Tomorrow we are off to Melbourne Harbor marina.  This is a really small marina that we like.  The basin has so much aquatic life in it, you never know what you might see.
