Brunswick (Morning Star Golden Isles Marina) to Savannah (Isle of Hope Marina)
Taking our time, if we keep the rpm's at 1700 around 14.5 mph the temperature stays good |
As usual, we are up right around sunrise, Sandy wants to check what he is able to check on the boat. We had a bag on that back of our boat when Sandy returned from walking Parker, the marina had provided us with blueberry muffins, makes the morning that much easier! Anyway, we spent about 45 minutes doing what we could, everything looked ok. We told the dockhands our troubles and told them we were going to go on our way but if things went South, we might be back. They were very kind and said no problem if we needed to come back.

The Isle of Hope Marina is still one of our favorites, it is just such a beautiful area, beautiful houses and today Sandy found a little treasure, picture attached. This reminds us of our time with our kids swimming, but this is on a smaller scale and just so sweet.
We were going to Isle of Hope Marina, a very small marina in Georgia that has been around since 1926. It is in a location called 'The Bluff" and the homes are so pretty and look out on the ICW, it is really very beautiful. We called the marina and told them that we were looking for a diver (to check the raw water intake), she gave me a number which I texted but have not heard back yet. It is a Sunday, and people need a day off, so hopefully I will get a call tomorrow and we hope he can check it out and

it is an obvious solution, if not, about 10 miles up the ICW is a Hinkley boat yard, they have Volvo Penta certified technicians so if we can schedule with them, that is the next step after the diver. It looks like we will be at Isle of Hope for at least two nights. We made it here fine, but instead of the 3.5 hours it took last time, it was 6 hours this time, going much slower to keep the coolant temperature to a reasonable level. Obviously we don't want to harm the engine in any way.
Beautiful homes surrounded by beautiful trees on the "Bluff" |
We will see what tomorrow brings, but this is a beautiful, calm place, right on the ICW to be waiting.
Oh no another obstacle. I am hoping for a big easy finish to the 2022 commute! Stay well and safe! 💕👍🏻
