Fort Lauderdale to North Palm Beach

What a difference a day makes!

So a miracle occurred this morning, Rosemary suggested that we go outside today instead of waiting for all the bridges to open.  She had looked at the weather (as had I) and decided that was the best course of action. It was a beautiful day on the ocean.  It took us less than three hours to go from Fort Lauderdale to North Palm Beach.

As we were exiting the inlet from Fort Lauderdale we saw a submarine off to our left.  There had been a Security alert that the U.S. Navy was conducting exercises South of the inlet, so we were assuming this submarine had some part in those exercises.

The whole crew is happy today

 We got a very nice slip and because we were there so early, we got to wash the boat, do laundry and go to a specialty food market that our friends had told us about.  It is called Doris Italian Market and Bakery.  Rosemary was like a kid in a candy store.  We were able to go to the store because Sandy's brother, Don, was down in Florida and picked us up.  He already had dinner plans with his golf friends before he knew we were coming, so he was kind enough to take us.

So we are going to have a delicious dinner on the boat tonight, tomorrow we go to the Fort Pierce Municipal Marina.  It seems like a fun area from the little bit we have been able to explore.  We might have a little more time there depending on when we arrive.
