Uh Oh, Red in morning |

Still Warm! |
Savannah (Thunderbolt Marine) to Jekyll Island (Jekyll Harbor Marina)
Looks good at dock I hope this is what we find out on the ocean today |
The Marina is know for easy access, immediately on ICW, Krispy Kreme donuts delivered to boat in morning (still hot!), and their massive boatyard known for high quality work on very large high end vessels.
Somewhere off the coast of Georgia |
Today we are transiting via the ocean. We couldn't make the tides work easily and we have a buddy boat to travel with that is heading to the same destination. Two new inlets to navigate, one that is not a major inlet. Great forecast that looks appropriate in the morning. Fortunately the forecast was correct and we had ideal conditions. Quick trip that got us to Jekyll Creek at exactly dead low tide. Some places we had 2 feet under us but not much of an issue and there was plenty of water around the dock to get into our slip.. We had asked for an inside berth as we knew wind and rain associated with a strong front were coming.
After giving the boat a quick rinse and Rosemary checked in and walked the dog, we grabbed a golf cart for a quick tour of the island.
Golf cart tour |
Croquet in white, very genteel |
Planning for transiting Florida begins and we can catch up on emails and things we put off while traveling. The next leg may also afford us the opportunity to go outside as a strong high pressure system builds in for most of the week. Two solid inlets (Fernandina and St Augustine) provide access and would get us back in sync with previous stops along the way.
Driftwood Beach |
Wedding about to start, the violinist was a nice addition |
All set for the night and the impending storm |
So happy you are safe and well!! ❤️👍🏻
