Georgetown to Charleston

Georgetown (Harborwalk Marina) to Charleston (Tolers Cove Marina)
Leaving Georgetown was very easy as we were on a face dock. Waiting for the tide to be more helpful is hard for us, we feel like we are just stalling, because we are! Anyway, away we went and it worked in our favor.
Dolphins! This never gets old.
So close to the transom |
Rosemary thought this guy was on his side to see her better and wave |
This is the most awesome thing we see, always exciting, sometimes we video, sometimes we just watch. These guys were huge and coming so close to the boat I seriously thought they might hit it.
We delayed leaving until almost 11:00. Sandy was getting anxious and ready to roll. It was a good decision to wait as we didn't have to worry much about the challenging shallow areas.
At Leland Oil McLellanville SC |
The dock guy at Leland Oil offered for Parker to get out and run around but I had to decline. As he had described before, there were lots of dogs all running around, (one with three legs!) as there were no leash laws, or at least not enforced, I couldn't let my baby out in case they didn't get along! Sandy laughs at me!
Mostly wide open and with a rising tide we can keep rolling |
Very beautiful scenery, mostly a large calm river with marsh on both sides.
Always great sunsets here, large car carrier ship passing the Sun outbound Charleston Inlet |
Toler's Cove is a very quiet community, I would say the houses are maybe half occupied with the other half being occupied when it is a bit warmer. Homes in this complex go for 1 million or more and there aren't many for sale. The house I looked at on line was very small and pending sale was $950,000. Another pending sale was 2.5M. We are lucky we are at the marina, not house shopping!!! Charleston is pricey!
Love watching the dolphins!! 💕👍🏻
