Fort Pierce to Palm Beach

 1/22/2022

Palm Beach Baby!
Marina is full of big yachts, surrounded by towers

Fort  Pierce (Fort Pierce Municipal Marina) to North Palm Beach (Safe Harbor Old Port Cove)

Dinner night before departure, and a band

Starting the day at the Farmers Market that is adjacent to the marina.  This was a nice Farmers Market, they had a band playing, lots of food vendors and then an even bigger section selling clothing and all types of 'art'.  We were just interested in the food.  We bought ourselves and Parker a huge, smoked turkey leg, and some fruit and some veggies.

The famous Kon Tiki, I mean Pon Tiki

Overcast with rain and wind forecasted for later, we are hopeful that the conditions will limit the boat traffic.  We were on our way about 9:00.  We are going about 50 miles and hope that it is not too rough.  We are still on the ICW but there are small white caps, but thankfully we are going with them.

Very many beautiful and very large houses

More derelict boats

The rest of the trip was rather uneventful.  We usually don't like traveling on weekends, especially in Southern Florida because there are so many "weekend boaters" but we are a little pressed for time (our reservation in Stock Island starts on 1/25) and we are hoping that the rain will keep more people off their boats.  It seemed to have worked today.  We certainly saw boats out on the water but not the way we would expect to see them.  Hopefully this logic will work again tomorrow as we transit inside to Fort Lauderdale.

Happy hour is over

Our marina today is only 2 miles from Sandy's brother's house in Florida so he is coming over to have a drink with us.  Exciting to have family visit!  Short visit but it was great to get together.
