St Augustine to Halifax Harbor, Daytona

Beautfiul, sunny day leaving St. Augustine this morning around 9:30.  This was slow going today as most of the time there were houses and docks - beautiful homes.  It was about a five hour trip, 50 miles.  

While we were in the Matanzas River we experienced dolphin riding the wake in the back of the boat.  It was an awesome sight.

We met Al today at Halifax Harbor Marina, second biggest marina in Florida, second only to one in Miami. Al was a really good guy who imparted a lot of local knowledge to us.  He was from Michigan, came down here on spring break and wanted to get back since then.  Life intruded and it took him almost all of it to get down here.  He loves it.

Wynnewood at Halifax Harbor

We went to the Chart House for an outside Happy Hour dinner, right around the corner from the marina.  Really pretty setting, and the food and drinks were good.  People seemed compliant here and it was not crowded, a good stop.
