Osprey Marina to Georgetown South Carolina

| Beautiful, calm morning, short 30 mile trip Osprey Marina to Harbor Walk Marina Georgetown SC |
Waccamaw River was beautiful. Cypress trees and Rice Fields stretched for miles. Sunny day to start, ended with clouds and heavy rain and wind thru the night. We left about 10:00, 30 miles and the trip took about 2 hours. We really took our time, there were no wake zones, but more stretches that we could go fast, but we kept it slow and only used 19 gallons of diesel.

We are on a face dock in downtown Georgetown, SC. Historic district downtown, beautiful homes with live oaks lining the streets. Easy access for Parker but the riverside downtown area is prone to flooding and we had heavy rain and wind Thursday night.

We met a very nice young man named Josh, he was docked right behind our boat at the marina. He is 26 years old and is moving his way south from Indian River Marina in Delaware to somewhere in Florida, no firm destination. He is alone on the boat. Like most of our children, he is able to work remotely for now and he is working full time. He has an 1998 Silverton 322, I am amazed that anyone can pilot and handle the lines by themselves. We are already worried about him, but in all honesty, he seemed quite capable and completely aware of the possible pitfalls he might encounter with an old boat. We must be slightly cool, because he wanted a connection and we are now facebook friends, although like our kids, I don't think he is ever on it!
