40 miles today. Left at 9:30. No rush, short trip and not much development on route. We had planned to use the high tide to our advantage and it worked well. What normally could be trouble spots were good. Concerned about wind picking up later in the afternoon and into tomorrow, otherwise would have left a little later. Took our time and arrived three hours later. Rosemary had been very clear that she wanted an inside slip. They had accommodated us, we were not on the outside face dock, but on the other side. Later, we were very glad they did. Staying for two nights, small craft advisory likely for tomorrow.

So glad Rosemary insisted on inside of facedock, knowing there was a big blow coming |
Nice newly rebuilt marina after hurricane damage years ago. Two cons - no wifi and not gated. People walk the docks all day and into the night. Great location right downtown with many food options very close and a supermarket about two miles away. Rosemary thought this marina offered a courtesy car but sadly, they did not have. So glad we have our bikes with us, we biked two miles to the grocery store and picked up supplies. We have these great bags for the bikes that enabled us to bring a grocery cart of stuff back to the boat, along with a backpack - that included 4 gallons of water, and milk and oj!

In the late afternoon, we noticed two gentleman right outside our boat, pointing and gesturing to each other. Sandy went outside to see if they had any questions or anything. This large Power Catamaran had come in with maybe 7 or 8 gentleman "of a certain age". They were all former Commodores of their Yacht club and get together once a year for a weekend cruise and comradery. They were sure enjoying life. Very nice men, and they really loved our boat!
